Bedroom Furniture
Matching chest and bedside tables
The rounded corners and the design on the top are influences from my boat building background. The top is designed to imitate teak and holly decking on the interior cabin sole (floor) of luxury yachts. The curved top on the chest is influenced by classic sea chest design.
Occasional Furniture
Entertainment Unit
After keeping a log of Matai timber stored for twenty years the true beauty of the timber was finally bought to life in this entertainment unit. Complete with a self lowering servery, glass display and plenty of storage, this liquor cabinet was designed specifically for the client's use. The height of cabinet creates a stunning presence within the client's home.
Dining Furniture
Oval Dining Table
This table was designed to match in with existing built-in furniture within the client's home. The dark stain on the elm was required to match this. The oval shape was to allow easily movement around the corners of the table as it was to function in a confinded space.
Interiors
Motorhome fit-out
This motorhome was gutted except for the toilet/shower and hanging locker shells. A new interior was designed and built for the customer's needs. The detailing work throughout was done in rimu. Unique features include a sliding bookcase that conceals a large storage area, also a central console designed with multi-use in mind with sliding table tops on each side which enables people to use a laptop or dine.
Boats
Laura Jo Restoration
Laura Jo was a fishing vessel that had been working out of Oamaru. It was built by Miller and Tunnage in Port Chalmers, Dunedin, but had reached the stage where it was no longer sea worthy. We were asked to restore the vessel with a new style of cabin. We worked from a sketch on the back of an envelope and turned the boat from a fishing vessel to a pleasure boat. It was a major restoration returning her to her former glory.
